The big studio opening is "Dinner for Schmucks," director Jay Roach's funny but forgettable farce about an aspiring executive, Tim (Paul Rudd), whose chance for promotion hinges on bringing an "idiot" to his boss's dinner party. He finds Barry (Steve Carell), a klutzy IRS employee whose hobby is making taxidermy dioramas.
