Salt Lake Tribune Review
Just about every skier and snowboarder has imagined this one scary scenario: What do you do if the ski lift stops, leaving you more than 50 feet above the slopes over night? "Frozen" may take that idea to ridiculous degrees, but it offers its fair share of terrifying moments. Three skiers (
Shawn Ashmore,
Emma Bell and
Kevin Zegers) are trapped above the slopes in a lift (filmed at Snow Basin near Ogden) and left to fend for themselves over a couple of days. Jumping off is not an option, plus a pack of wolves (at a ski resort?) is circling below, ready to munch on the helpless victims. Still, horror director Adam Green creates a lean and sometimes frightening horror movie for winter-sports fans who have imagined this situation.

The rundown: Three skiers get stuck on a chair lift overnight at a resort. It's a preposterous battle with the elements and a pack of wolves, but still scary. 92 minutes. (VH)
